Jeffrey L. Binder, Ph.D., ABPP
With over 40 years in clinical practice, I appreciate that each person has a unique personal story.
I will help you gain a deeper understanding of your story and we will work together to help you lead a happier, more emotionally fulfilled life
I conduct individual adult psychotherapy and couples therapy for issues including relationship difficulties, depression and anxiety, personality disorders, traumas, grief and loss, employment and career issues, milestones such as retirement and divorce, as well as other stress-related issues and life challenges.
I will work with you to gain a detailed understanding of your personal story and what features of it may be creating difficulties in your life.
I use a combination of psychodynamic, interpersonal, and cognitive treatment approaches, tailored to your personal situation. At our first appointment I will begin to help you tell your personal story. You will also be able to ask me questions about the treatment process.
Then we will work together on a treatment plan focused on enhancing your self-awareness, self-understanding and self-acceptance.
Clinical experience and scientific evidence indicate that this leads to greater happiness and improved relationships.
Training & Consultation
I have trained psychiatry residents, clinical psychology interns, social work students, and counselors, as well as junior psychiatry and psychology faculty members. I offer training and clinical consultation in dynamic/interpersonal psychotherapy to all mental health professionals.
